Peter J. Gimino III is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, resident in the Firm�s Orange County office. As a member of the Trial Department, Peter focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters and intellectual property litigation.
Peter has extensive experience litigating matters in state and federal courts on behalf of clients with domestic and international operations in a wide variety of industries. Peter also counsels clients in resolving disputes through means alternative to litigation, including mediation and arbitration.
Representative matters handled by Peter include:
Representation of a large hotel operator in defense of numerous claims based on California�s Proposition 65 and successfully obtained judgment or dismissal on those claims
Representation of a multi-faceted, internationally based client in defense of a commercial sale dispute pending in the United States
Worked on the defense of several multi-million dollar patent infringement actions involving medical devices
Representation of a multinational marketing and advertising company in the enforcement of business contracts
Peter is active in providing pro bono legal services to the community which include the recent litigation of a financial elder abuse claim in California State Courts and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington.
At Pepperdine, Peter was the business editor for the Pepperdine Law Review, from 1997-98 and was published in the Pepperdine Law Review, Vol. 25, Page 67 (1997). Peter is a former extern to the Hon. Mitchel R. Goldberg of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. Peter also received a certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Pepperdine University School of Law�s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution in 1998.
Peter was admitted to the California State Bar in 1998, the U.S. District Court for the Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of California in 1998, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 2005. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association.
