Dr. Peter L. Lee was appointed president Chesapeake Asia-Pacific Limited and Chesapeake Corporation vice president in 2002. He previously served as vice president Asia Pacific, Chesapeake International Holding Company, since September 1999.
Prior to joining Chesapeake, Dr. Lee held senior management positions with various U.S. and U.K.-based multinational corporations in the packaging, telecommunications, minerals and soft drink industries. From 1985 to 1999 he served as vice president and general manager of several companies with offices in Hong Kong, including English China Clay Asia-Pacific Ltd., a British industrial minerals and pigments company; Riverwood International Asia-Pacific Ltd., a U.S. specialty packaging company; Mead Coated Board Far East Ltd., a division of Mead Corporation; and Bellsouth International Asia-Pacific Ltd.
He began his career in 1972 as a research chemist for Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. After accepting a business development position in Hong Kong in 1978, Dr. Lee was instrumental in developing Coca-Cola�s business in China, which led to new plants in Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Zhuhai. He was appointed the first president of Coca-Cola China and was named senior vice president of Coca-Cola Pacific in 1985.
Dr. Lee received his bachelor�s degree in chemistry from Seattle University and earned a doctorate degree in chemistry from Michigan State University. He has also completed post-doctoral research at New York University and Cambridge University. Dr. Lee is a naturalized U.S. citizen. |
