Peter N. Smith, one of the Principals and General Partner for 5280 Partners LP, joined the Cellport Board in 2006. Pete's responsibilities for 5280 Partners, an investment firm specializing in media, telecommunications and outsourced business services, include the assessment of technological viability, corporate evaluations, review of management execution capabilities and the likely market acceptance of products/technologies in which 5280 is considering investing or acquiring. Prior to joining 5280 Partners, Pete was Senior Vice President - Engineering and Advanced Technology with Rifkin & Associates, Inc., where, for 16 years, he was responsible for all capital expenditures, construction, cable system upgrades/rebuilds, new technology assessment/implementation and new service introductions. During this time, he was one of the principal advocates for the launch of digital video, cable modem and telephony services in the Rifkin-operated cable systems.Previously, Pete was Vice President - Engineering for American Television and Communications Corporation, which ultimately merged into what is today Time Warner Cable. In various roles, he was responsible designing and constructing cable systems in Denver, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Memphis, Rochester, N.Y., Jacksonville, Birmingham, Shreveport, Wichita Falls and Green Bay and other smaller markets. Pete received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Franklin University. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Pixxures, Inc. |
