Practice Focus
Since joining the firm in 1980, Peter has built an active business litigation practice with substantial experience and emphasis representing contractors, owners, and others in construction disputes and employers and employees in trade secret, non-competition and confidentiality cases.
His practice also focuses on commercial disputes and litigation. He chairs the firm�s Litigation Department and serves on the Management Committee. Peter is a member of the International Association of Defense Council. Sample Matters
Obtained plaintiff�s jury verdict for a large, national environmental remediation contractor (and defeated defendant�s $750,000 counterclaim) in a breach of contract case involving complex design issues associated with the installation of an impermeable membrane in a slurry trench.
Obtained defendant�s jury verdict for a civil engineering firm in a negligent design claim involving a private wastewater treatment facility and damages claims by an adjoining commercial landowner totaling over $2 million.
Together with Sheehan partner Chris Cole, successfully defended founders, key employees and a publicly-traded software company in the defense of $1 billion trade secret, breach of fiduciary duty and contract claims in Chicago.

Peter is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and was named a Best Lawyer in America by Woodward/White in the area of commercial litigation. He was also named a New England Super Lawyer for business ligitation in 2007.
Memberships and Admissions
Peter is admitted to practice in New Hampshire state and federal courts and before the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the New Hampshire and American Bar Associations (ABA) and of the ABA�s Forum on the Construction Industry. In 2004, he was appointed to serve on the Federal Court Advisory Committee to the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire which seeks to improve court operations and procedures and serves as a liaison between federal practitioners and the court. Peter also serves on the New Hampshire Bar Association�s Committee on Cooperation with the Courts.
