Peter Sturges has practiced law in the areas of labor and employment, wrongful termination, discrimination, construction and commercial disputes, and education law for over 16 years. He has represented California school districts throughout the State of California in the areas of labor and employment, labor disputes, student issues, special education, facilities and construction, school district litigation, eminent domain proceedings, Brown Act compliance, and day-to-day advisory matters to school district Governing Boards and administrators. He has represented public and private sector clients in State and Federal court, the California Court of Appeal, administrative hearings, before PERB and the Office of Administrative Hearings, and in arbitrations and mediations. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sturges represented a variety of private sector clients in employment matters and large commercial disputes. Prior to practicing law, he was a seagoing officer in the United States Merchant Marine where he piloted unlimited class vessels in worldwide trade. While in law school Mr. Sturges was the president of his graduating class, served as chair of the International Law Society and was a semi-finalist in the Hale Moot Court competition. Mr. Sturges is a frequent contributor to the firm�s publication. |
