Peter Bauer successfully completed his engineering degree at the Technical University in Munich in 1986 and then began his professional career in the Semiconductor Division at Siemens AG. He initially worked as a development engineer in the field of microcontrollers and subsequently assumed a number of different positions in marketing. Among other tasks, he was given responsibility for the worldwide marketing of Automotive & Industrial Integrated Circuits, before he became General Manager of Chipcard and ID-System ICs.
In 1996 Peter Bauer took over the post of Vice President and General Manager of Siemens Semiconductor Microcontroller ICs. In the same year he was promoted to President of the division which comprised the Chipcard & ID System ICs, Wireless Baseband ICs and Microcontrollers business units. He was also responsible for the Semiconductor Division's Sales and Solution Centers from 1997 until 1999, and was appointed to the post of President and CEO of Siemens Microelectonics, Inc. in Cupertino, America in 1998.
After the founding of Infineon Technologies AG, Peter Bauer became Member of the Board in 1999. He heads the Automotive, Industrial and Multimarket Business Group and is responsible for Central Sales Functions. |
