Peter Courture serves as UMC's Chief Strategic Officer, with responsibility for alliances, joint ventures and our Intellectual Property Rights Group. Mr. Courture joined UMC in 1983 as legal counsel, served as our General Counsel since 1993 and as our Chief Strategic Officer since 2000. He was elected to the board in May 2001. Mr. Courture earned his bachelor's degree (Phi Beta Kappa) in Economics from Yale College in 1976 and a J.D. degree (Order of the Coif) from Stanford Law School in 1979.
Prior to joining UMC, Mr. Courture was a partner in the Silicon Valley law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati representing semiconductor and other high technology companies. Mr. Courture also serves as a court appointed neutral for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Santa Clara County Superior Court and as a teacher at Stanford Law School. |
