Peter Dickinson is Head of Mayer Brown's Corporate Group in the UK. He is a widely acknowledged leader in the telecommunications industry and is highly recommended in his field by both the UK Legal 500 and the Chambers UK Directories. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial transactions and he has particular experience in relation to mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Peter also has a wealth of experience in outsourcing (particularly with regard to disputed benchmarking) and has led many significant outsourcing projects including some which stand out as among the largest transactions of their kind. Within the telecoms sector, Peter has advised on turn-key network construction contracts (both terrestrial and sub-sea), and IRUs and other forms of capacity sales.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 1995 (Partner, 1996), Peter held a senior-level position with a large telecommunications firm. Earlier, he was associated with two other prominent law firms in the UK. He has been listed in both the Legal 500 Directory (2004) and the Chambers UK Directory (2005) as a "Leading Individual" in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions and Telecommunications. Interoute Communications in relation to an investment of �125 million by Tecom (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai Holdings) for a substantial shareholding in the Interoute group of companies.
WaveCrest Enterprises on the subscription by Sistema AFK (the Moscow and London LSE quoted conglomerate) for a controlling interest in WaveCrest.
Reuters Group plc on its acquisition of Action Images plc.
