Peter emphasizes product liability defense on a national basis, where he frequently handles complex and multi-district litigation matters. His experience in the product liability field covers a wide spectrum of insured and self-insured manufacturers of automobiles, trucks, ATVs, computer equipment, and hazardous materials. Specific automotive product areas he has handled include restraint systems (seat belts and airbags), fuel system integrity, door latch mechanisms, automatic transmission, brakes, unintended acceleration, and general crashworthiness. Motorcycle litigation issues include leg protection, fuel system, brakes, drive-train protection, suspension, conspicuity, and handling. The computer issues involved the alleged connection between the use of keyboards and upper extremity disorders resulting from "cumulative trauma" or repetitive motion syndrome. Peter was admitted to practice in Colorado in 1971 and is admitted before the United States District Courts of Colorado and Arizona and the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit. He has been admitted pro hac vice in the Federal and State Courts of Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Wyoming. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law in 1970 and his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Ripon College in 1967. |
