Phil Biggs joined IRN in 2006, having professionally known the company and its principals for over ten years. As Executive Vice President, he is responsible for business development, as well as the growth and management of strategic partnerships at IRN. Phil leads the IRN sales and marketing process, identifying potential users, managing the sales pipeline, and building relationships that will leverage IRN�s competence in research, strategy, and automotive industry knowledge.
Phil came to IRN from Marsh & McLennan, the global leader in risk management and insurance brokerage, where he had been Vice President of Sales and Marketing in the Grand Rapids office since 2003. His primary role was to develop new clients- large, multinational companies as well as middle market businesses -for Marsh�s insurance, risk management, and health and benefits practices, as well as the Mercer Management Consulting practice. He also served as a senior advisor to the Marsh National Automotive industry practice that was created to coordinate Marsh's global strength in that industry sector and realize client growth.
Prior to Marsh, Phil was with Ernst & Young as Sales Leader in their Cleveland, Detroit, and Grand Rapids offices from 1995 to 2003. In this capacity, Phil served on many client service teams as E&Y executed accounting, tax, corporate finance, and other consulting engagements. Phil served as a member of the Ernst & Young National Automotive Team from 1995 to 2002 and worked with numerous public and private companies in the Tier I and Tier II automotive supplier segment. Based on his expertise in the automotive sector, Phil was invited during this time to be a guest lecturer at Central Michigan University and Michigan State University presenting "Global M&A Trends in the Automotive Industry."
Before joining E&Y, Phil spent fourteen years with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation in sales and sales management in the Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Schaumburg offices. As the founder of One World Music LLC in 2002, a publisher and Internet provider of original music, Phil has gained the experience of owning and managing a small business. In community service, Phil is an officer of the Grand Rapids Public Schools� Student Advancement Foundation Board of Directors, serving as Chair of Fund Development.
Phil graduated with a BA from Grand Valley State University and holds an MBA in Finance from Central Michigan University. |
