Phil Henson co-leads XL Capital Assurance s (XLCA) Power & Utilities group. The group structures and executes triple-A rated credit enhancement for the financing of utilities in the electric, gas and water sectors globally, and for the debt obligations of selected financially sound projects in the energy industry. Mr. Henson has more than 16 years of energy and project finance experience. He joined XLCA from ING Barings LLC where, as director, Utilities/Project Finance & Advisory, he had primary relationship responsibility for ING s utility and energy clients in Canada and parts of the U.S. and arranged several billion dollars of recourse and non-recourse financings for clients in the power and utilities industry. He was earlier an associate director in project finance at SBC Capital Markets (which was later merged into UBS Warburg). Mr. Henson received a B.A. in History from Colgate University, a M.S., Foreign Service, from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago s Graduate School of Business. |
