Philip Fontana received a BS in Geology (1975) from the University of Connecticut and was awarded an MS in Geophysics in 1983 from the same institution. He started working in the industry in 1978 and joined Veritas in 2001. He currently holds the position of Geophysical Manager, Marine Acquisition, and is based out of Houston, U.S.A.
Philip�s areas of expertise include marine acquisition technologies, marine survey design, marine survey QA/QC and marine mammal mitigation issues. His project experience is international and covers several regions including North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific.
Philip has co-authored and published papers for both Geophysics (1991) and the SEG Expanded Abstracts (2003). He served as Technical Consultant to the IAGC Marine Mammal Task Force and is ex-Chairman of the Science and Research Sub-Committee of API ESA/MMPA Task Force. Philip is an active member of several professional organizations including the SEG, EAGE and ASA. He is a Continuing Education Instructor for the SEG and has completed the Veritas Global Leadership Development program. |
