Philippe Szwarc was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Arel in June 2002. With over ten years experience as a senior executive in various telecommunications markets such as IP infrastructure, wireless Internet and enterprise networking, Philippe has a proven track record in developing companies toward high-revenue growth and profitability and in identifying new market opportunities. His tenure in the telecommunications field encompasses experience running operations across the globe including businesses in the United States, Europe and Asia. Prior to Arel, Philippe spent seven years working for MRV Communications (NASDAQ: MRVC), a world leader in optical components and networking, where he led four operational units and managed more than ten mergers and acquisitions. His involvement with MRV has included roles as Chief Executive Officer of iTouch Communications (formerly Xyplex Networks) from 1998 until 2000, and Chief Executive Officer of NBase Communications, a leader in LAN switching solutions, from 1995 until 1997. Priot to that, Philippe held the position of sales manager at Lannet Data Communications, a pioneer in data communications, which was acquired by Lucent Technologies in 1999. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and a MBA from INSEAD, the European Institute of Business Administration. |
