Being a native Italian living and working in Spain and supporting Dow groups globally is just the beginning of Piera�s story. In her role as a workforce planning specialist, she executes the strategy that continues to drive Dow�s people-centric performance culture in a variety of ways: recruiting new employees, implementing diversity and inclusion activities, supporting the human resources needs of her business and managing technologies that will enable Dow to recruit a diverse base of talent.
Having been at Dow for just over two years, Piera has really made an impact by offering a fresh perspective to the challenges her team faces. Her international professional experience has helped her team expand its definition of diversity and leverage inclusion to create value for their internal customers. Piera�s managers have given her the autonomy to incorporate these experiences and to continue to grow her knowledge by participating in external networks.
This has opened the door to an expanded view of what diversity and inclusion means at Dow and even impacts how the site in Tarragona gives back to the community. One of the most fruitful community partnerships has been the partnership with university students to raise awareness of environmental health and safety. Employees also work with the students to volunteer time with people with disabilities. |
