COLLEGE: Quincy Butler was a first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection at cornerback following his senior season at TCU. He was also selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game. Butler finished his senior year with a team-high five interceptions - all in the month of October - tied for the team lead in passes defensed with eight and added 53 tackles. As a junior - his first season with the Frogs - Butler started eight games and tied for second on the team with 56 stops and also added five passes defensed. He had two interceptions on the year - returning one 99 yards for a touchdown - breaking the previous TCU record for longest interception return of 85 yards. He was a two-time selection on the Southwest Junior College Football Conference All-League team while attending Tyler Junior College. He recorded 151 tackles and eight interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, in his two years at Tyler.
PERSONAL: Butler was named to the first-team all-district as a quarterback following his junior and senior seasons at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Texas. He was also a member of the track team at TCU, running the 400 meters and was a communications major with a criminal justice minor. |
