Rachel Royce, PhD, MPH, senior research epidemiologist, has over 20 years' experience in the design and conduct of epidemiology and public health research with a focus on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and maternal child health. She joined RTI in 2001 after 8 years as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Department of Epidemiology. Dr. Royce has a strong background in research methodology and the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases, and preterm delivery. She has served as principal investigator and co-investigator on several research projects and has written numerous publications. She has directed and collaborated on grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts funded by a variety of sources, including the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Fulbright Commission. Dr. Royce is the principal investigator and project director for the North Carolina Site of CDC's Tuberculosis Epidemiologic Studies Consortium (TBESC). |
