Mr. Madan�s practice is concentrated in the area of federal tax controversy and litigation. He has represented numerous clients in all stages of IRS administrative practice, Federal District Court litigation, and Tax Court litigation. His substantive experience includes a wide-range of complex tax issues in the following areas: foreign tax credits, transfer pricing, life insurance, investment tax credits and business purpose/economic substance.
From 1992-1997, Mr. Madan served as a Trial Attorney for the Internal Revenue Service, Manhattan District Counsel, where he was a member of two significant trial teams, Nestle and Riggs, and was a three-time recipient of the Chief Counsel�s Special Act Award.
Mr. Madan was named one of the country's leading practitioners in the field of taxation by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business 2006, 2007 and 2008. He was profiled in the January 2007 American Lawyer feature story on Litigation's Rising Stars in the article "Rough Crossing," which highlighted prominent litigators who have made a seamless transition from public to private practice. |
