Raj Shah brings to the company a unique combination of 22 years of experience in the software industry and experience with running events and membership for a variety of organizations. He has leveraged this experience to develop a practical and cost-effective web technology solution for event and membership management.
Prior to founding 123Signup, he was co-founder and vice president of engineering at Decide.com, an e-commerce company focused on consumer services. Shah joined Informix in 1994 to create & run a subsidiary for the company in India. He was also vice president of engineering at Independence Technologies, which pioneered the three-process Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) model and commercialized Tuxedo. Shah has also worked for GriD Systems and Intel.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a member of the Alliance of CEO's and a charter member of the World Entrepreneur's Organization.
