As head of Magellan�s specialty pharmaceutical business segment, Raju Mantena is responsible for strategy, sales and business development.
In 2003, Raju founded ICORE Healthcare, LLC. ICORE was the first company of its kind to provide health plans with a broad range of solutions to manage the rapidly escalating cost trends of specialty pharmaceuticals, which are drugs that are typically administered through injections or intravenously, frequently in a patient�s home or doctor�s office. Specialty pharmaceuticals are commonly used to treat all types of cancers, hemophilia, multiple sclerosis, infertility, rheumatoid arthritis, growth hormone deficiency and chronic forms of hepatitis.
In addition to founding ICORE, Raju founded Oncoscripts, which was one of the first companies to provide oncology specific solutions to the payor. He also co-founded International Oncology Network (ION), which was an oncology-specific group purchasing organization. Between 1993 and 1997, Raju co-founded companies in the home infusion and physician practice management areas.
Raju earned a degree in clinical pharmacy from the University of Maryland and also holds a bachelor�s degree in computer science and engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in India. |
