Ralph L. Richardi was named Senior Vice President Customer Service in September 2002. Richardi oversees American�s Customer Service and Airport Operations throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Canada, and the Cargo Division Worldwide.
Previously, Richardi served as Vice President - Operations Planning & Performance since February 2000. He was responsible for American's System Operations Control Center (SOC), as well as crew scheduling, airline dependability and operations engineering.
Richardi had served as Senior Vice President-Field Services for American Eagle Airlines, and as President of Fort Worth, Texas-based Simmons Airlines, one of four separate regional carriers that operated under the American Eagle banner until 1998 when their operations were consolidated.
Richardi joined American Airlines in 1976 as an Industrial Engineer and subsequently held numerous management positions, including Assistant Vice President-Employee Relations, Manager-Western Reservations Office, General Manager-San Francisco International Airport, Director-Methods and Standards, and Director-Quality of Work Life. In 1989, he was appointed Vice President-Dallas/Fort Worth, and held that position until being named President of Simmons Airlines in March 1995.
Prior to joining American, Richardi served in engineering positions with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, Melnor Industries in Moonachie, N.J., and Ford Motor Co. in Mahwah, N.J.
A native of New Jersey, Richardi received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, N.J., in 1969, a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson in 1976, and he attended Harvard University's Advanced Management Program in 1991. |
