As Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Ramzi Haidamus leads the company global sales and marketing functions for Dolby Laboratories by implementing overall go-to-market plans and partnering with Dolby's Products and Technology group to develop product strategy. His responsibilities include overseeing product marketing corporate marketing business development and sales as well as field operations and customer support worldwide.
Previous to his current role Ramzi was Senior Vice President and General Manager Consumer Division. In this position he was responsible for the strategic direction of the development marketing and licensing of Dolby technologies that are used in a wide range of consumer electronics. Before his position as head of the Consumer Division Ramzi served as the President and General Manger of Dolby's wholly-owned subsidiary Via Licensing Corporation which he guided from a small start-up to a profitable world-class patent licensing organization. Prior to launching Via Licensing in 2002 Ramzi spent several years in key positions at Dolby including Director of Business Development Technology and Business Strategist and Licensing Manager. Managing and administering licensing programs for the company Ramzi played a pivotal role in the successful adoption of Dolby's technologies in open standards such as DVD-Video and DVD-Recordable. He was a key player in the successful launch of the DVD format which won Dolby a joint Emmy Award in 1999.
Before joining Dolby Ramzi worked at Stanford Research Systems for seven years. He holds a BS in electrical engineering and an MS in computer engineering from the University of the Pacific and he has completed advanced coursework at Stanford University the University of California at Berkeley and the Center for Creative Leadership. Ramzi currently serves on the board of directors for the Bay Area chapter of the American Red Cross and is a member of the Licensing Executive Society. |
