Randall B. Peterson is vice president and chief compliance officer for Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies' 13,500 employees serve more than 29 million consumers worldwide. In his current job, Peterson oversees the company�s key compliance resources and activities, including business-conduct and legal-compliance programs. From 2002 to 2004, Peterson was vice president of Human Capital Services, overseeing payroll, human resource information technology, executive and employee development, and compliance-training programs. Before that, Peterson was director of Audit Services for Sempra Energy from 1998 to 2001, and at Pacific Enterprises, the parent company of Southern California Gas Co., a job he held from 1995 to 1998. Since joining Pacific Enterprises in 1984, Peterson has held a range of jobs of increasing responsibility in finance, accounting and auditing. He also has led many corporate reorganizations and realignments. Prior to that, Peterson was an audit manager with Ernst & Whinney. Peterson has a bachelor�s degree from San Diego State University, and a number of professional audit and accounting certifications. Peterson also devotes his energies in support of a number of youth sports and performing arts events. |
