Randy Simons is vice president and chief financial officer for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, responsible for all financial activities of the business unit. Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, formed in July 2002 from the merger of the Boeing Military Aircraft and Missile Systems and Space and Communications businesses, provides systems solutions to global military, government and commercial customers. Prior to this assignment, Simons was vice president and general manager of Business Management and chief financial officer for Military Aircraft and Missile Systems.
Simons joined McDonnell Douglas in 1989 as director of Audit. Prior to joining the company, Simons worked for Ernst & Young, certified public accountants, in their accounting and auditing departments in Dallas and Washington, D.C. From 1991 to 1997, he was controller for McDonnell Douglas Aerospace. He later served as vice president of Business Resources for Phantom Works, the research and development organization of The Boeing Company. In March 1999, he was named vice president of Finance for Boeing Twin-Aisle Programs. In January 2000, he became chief financial officer for Airplane Programs in the Commercial Airplanes business unit, responsible for the financial systems, processes and databases for the 717, 737, 747, 757, 767 and 777.
Simons holds bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Oklahoma State University and has been a certified public accountant since 1976. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Executives Institute, and sits on the boards of Lindenwood University and Forest Park.
