Dr. Rawson earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at UNLV, his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and his Master�s Degree in Physical Anthropology from UNLV.
Dr. Rawson was instrumental in creating the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine which accepted its first class last fall. He also paved the way for the General Practice Dental Residency and the Pediatric Dental Residency programs at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine. Dr. Rawson also initiated the Miles for Smiles traveling dental program that treats uninsured children.
Dr. Rawson is a licensed dentist; Director of Dental Programs for the University and Community College System of Nevada; a Professor at the Community College of Southern Nevada, an Adjunct Professor at UNLV School of Dentistry, Deputy Coroner and Chief Dental Examiner for Clark County Nevada and Senior Consultant for the Oral Health Access Grant Program for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Reforming States Group sponsored by the Milbank Memorial Fund.
Dr. Rawson served as a former Chairman and Secretary of the American Society of Forensic Odontology; Chairman of the Bite Mark Standards and Guidelines Committee of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences; and, as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology.
Dr. Rawson is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences; the American Society of Forensic Odontology; the American Association of Dental Schools; the American Board of Forensic Odontology; the American Dental Association; the American Board of Oral Medicine; the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr. Rawson was a 20-year member of the Nevada State Senate, representing the Clark County Senatorial District Number Six. During his tenure in the Nevada State Senate, he concurrently served the National Conference of State Legislatures as a member of the health, budgets and revenue committees. |
