Raymond E. (Ray) Galvin was named Vice Chairman of the Board of Swift Energy Company on June 2 2006. Mr. Galvin has served as a director of Swift Energy since 2003. Now retired he was president of Chevron U.S.A. Production Company from 1992 to 1997. He also served as a director of Chevron Corp. from 1995 to 1997 and as a vice president of Chevron Corp. from 1988 to 1997. Mr. Galvin began his career with Gulf Oil Corp. in 1953 soon after receiving a degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University. After serving in various engineering and management positions in several states he became Gulf�s vice president for production U. S. operations (in 1979) and subsequently was named vice president of the South and East Offshore Division of Gulf Oil Exploration and Production Co. (in 1981). Upon the implementation of the Gulf/Chevron Corp. merger in 1985 he was elected vice president for exploration land and production for Chevron U.S.A. Inc.-Southern Region. In 1988 he was elected senior vice president for exploration land and production of Chevron U.S.A. Inc. formerly the domestic oil and gas subsidiary of Chevron Corp. Mr. Galvin has served as chairman of the Natural Gas Council and the Natural Gas Supply Association and in 1996 he was the president of Houston Spindletop and advisory director of Spindletop International. He has also served as an officer and/or board member of the Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association the National Ocean Industries Association the Gas Research Institute the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association the Houston Advisory Board of the Nature Conservancy of Texas the Houston Museum of Natural Science the Greater Houston Partnership and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering. Mr. Galvin is currently president of the Board of Directors of Houston Hospice. He is also a member of the External Advisory Council for the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University and a member of the American Petroleum Institute and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. |
