Rhonda L. Ketterling, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer for MeritCare Health System. Dr. Ketterling joined MeritCare in 2001 as an Executive Partner and internist and has been actively engaged in the improvement of quality and safety of patient care.
Her role includes oversight of Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Utilization Management, Health Information Management, Health Care Data Analysis, the Office of Research Administration, and our Lean Management initiatives.
Dr. Ketterling is a native North Dakotan who grew up in the west river community of Hettinger. Her undergraduate and medical degrees were obtained from the University of North Dakota. Her internal medicine residency was completed in 1982 at the University of North Dakota affiliated hospitals here in Fargo. She practiced medicine in Rugby, ND for 14 years before moving to Oklahoma City to serve as Vice President of Managed Care for Mercy Health Systems Oklahoma. While in Rugby she was a Bush Foundation Fellow and received a Master's of Administrative Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Dr. Ketterling and her husband, David Wells, enjoy traveling and exercising together. Her spare time activities include reading, baking, and an occasional round of golf. |
