Ricardo B. Levy, a founder of Catalytica, Inc., currently serves as chairman of the board of Catalytica Energy Systems, Inc. Dr. Levy served as director, chief operating officer, chairman and chief executive officer of Catalytica Inc. from 1974 to 2000. Prior to Catalytica, Dr. Levy was a member of the chemical physics research team at Exxon Research and Engineering Company. He obtained a Ph.D. in chemical engineering in 1972 from Stanford University, a M.S. in 1967 from Princeton University, and a B.S. in 1966 from Stanford University. From 1967 to 1970 he was general manager of a manufacturing operation, Sudamericana, Inc., in Quito, Ecuador. Dr. Levy has authored over 14 papers and patents in the field of catalysis and is co-author of a book entitled Catalysis in Coal Conversion. In 1989 he completed the owner/president management program at the Harvard School of Business Administration. |
