Richard McBee currently holds the position of Sr. Vice President and General Manager of the Communications Business. Prior to this position, McBee was Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Service and Marketing.
McBee joined Tektronix in 1991 as a Product Marketing Manager. He then moved into the U.S. Sales organization where he held various management positions including: Major Accounts Manager, Federal Sales and Marketing Manager, and Region Manager for the U.S. South Central Region. After this field experience, he returned to Tektronix' headquarters as Director of Strategic Planning, followed by Director of Marketing for the company's Instruments Business Unit which includes the oscilloscope, logic analyzer and signal sources product lines. He then moved to Director of Marketing for the Wireless Communications Product Line. From there he was promoted to General Manager of Tektronix Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary. Finally he returned to the headquarters as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the company. In 2001, he was named Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, adding Service to his responsibilities in 2004.
McBee began his career as a program manager for the development of satellite control systems as a member of the United States Air Force. He received a master's degree in Business Administration from Chapman School of Business and Economics, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy. He currently holds a board position on the Portland State University Business Advisory Council and is a trustee of the Tektronix Foundation. |
