Prior to founding 1stWorks Corporation in 2000, Mr. Gorgens founded the third of his Inc 500 fast growth startups, Microsystems Software, Inc. in 1989, serving as its Chairman and CEO. Located in Framingham, MA, MSI created easy to use yet sophisticated software solutions for corporate networks and the Internet, including Cyber Patrol, the leading Internet content filtering solution. MSI was purchased by The Learning Company in 1998. Mr. Gorgens founded Alloy Computer Products, Inc., in 1979, serving as its Chairman and CEO. Also located in Framingham MA, Alloy Computer Products developed and marketed backup systems, tape drives and multi user computer systems for the emerging microcomputer marketplace. Alloy grew to $50 million in annual sales by 1986 and executed a successful IPO in June of that year, Mr. Gorgens resigned from Alloy in 1989 to found MSI. Prior to Alloy, Mr. Gorgens was Director of Special Systems Development at Incoterm Corporation in Wellesley MA, later a subsidiary of Honeywell Information Systems. |
