Richard Juelis was appointed director of Adept in November 2005. In June 2005, Mr. Juelis joined World Heart Corporation, a medical device company focused on the development and commercialization of pulsatile ventricular assist devices, serving as vice president, finance and CFO. In 1994, Mr. Juelis joined Cellegy Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty biopharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes prescription drugs for the treatment of women's health care conditions, and served as its chief financial officer until his departure in April 2005. From 1993 to 1994, Mr. Juelis served as chief financial officer for Vivus, Inc., a now public pharmaceutical company spun out of ALZA Corporation which merged with Johnson & Johnson in 2001. From 1990 to 1992, Mr. Juelis served as chief financial officer for Xoma Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company. Mr. Juelis has an M.B.A. from Columbia University, a B.S. in Chemistry from Fordham University and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). |
