Richard A. Nunn, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs joined MGL Consulting Corporation in September of 2000. His responsibilities include consulting with clients regarding financial reporting, development and implementation of financial accounting, reporting and budgeting systems for their broker/dealer entities. Prior to joining MGL Consulting Corporation, Mr. Nunn was Chief Financial Officer for GBM International, Inc. where he developed and implemented financial accounting, reporting and budgeting systems for a $10,000,000 start-up U.S. broker/dealer subsidiary of a Mexican financial conglomerate. He designed and implemented corporate reorganization to more effectively present financial information to regulators and provided corporate advice on U.S. and foreign tax matters. Mr. Nunn directed activities of external auditors, tax advisors and broker/dealer consultants. He participated in organization of offshore subsidiary and provided key advice on U.S. and foreign tax consequences. Assisted U.S. attorneys with development of offering circular for offshore mutual fund and private placement memorandum for U.S. hedge fund. Prior to joining GBM International, Mr. Nunn was a Vice President and Trust Officer for Chase Bank of Texas (formerly, Texas Commerce Bank). At Chase Bank of Texas, Mr. Nunn developed a mainframe computer system conversion including establishment of P.C. based local area network to provide multiple access to data base. Directed task force including outside recordkeepers, attorneys and internal staff to design and implement 401(k) tax deferred product. Prior to joining Chase Bank of Texas, Mr. Nunn served as Vice President - Operations and Vice President and Treasurer of Criterion Group, Inc. At Criterion Group, Mr. Nunn organized holding company financial operating procedures, permitting early distribution of financial and statistical information to management. He developed controls which resulted in timely completion of annual audit with no audit adjustments. He directed a team of internal staff and outside attorneys to organize two domestic and one offshore venture capital limited partnerships. He also developed a system to project cash flow requirements and companion cash management techniques which contributed to early retirement of acquisition debt. Mr. Nunn developed new investment products and SEC registration statements, as well as established accounting policies and procedures that deferred expenses of up to $1 million annually. Prior to joining Criterion Group, Inc., Mr. Nunn was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young where he directed services for Houston office investment company and broker/dealer clients, as well as numerous small and medium size companies. Directed preparation of SEC registration statements for energy related manufacturing company, bank holding company and numerous investment companies. He also participated with small team of professionals to develop investment company audit procedures.Mr. Nunn holds an MBA in Accounting from Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University, Houston, Texas where he graduated in 1976. Mr. Nunn holds a BS Accounting degree from Rice University, Houston, Texas where he graduated in 1969. Mr. Nunn holds a BA in Political Science, Economics & Business Administration from Rice University, Houston, Texas where he graduated in 1968. Mr. Nunn is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Texas) and he holds the General Securities Representative, the General Securities Principal, the Financial and Operations Principal, the Commodities Representative and the Uniform State Agent Law Examination registrations with the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. and the Texas State Securities Board. Mr. Nunn holds a General Line Life and Health Insurance License with the Texas Department of Insurance. Mr. Nunn is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of CPA's and the Houston Chapter of the TSCPA. |
