Rad DeTar is the managing principal of the firm�s Easton and Cambridge, Maryland offices. Mr. DeTar focuses his practice in corporate/business litigation, land use advocacy, real estate disputes and representing employers in employment matters. Mr. DeTar�s corporate/business litigation practice includes, but is not limited to, corporate and partnership breakups, shareholder derivative actions, shareholder appraisal actions and a wide variety of breach of contract disputes. Mr. DeTar�s land use practice includes representing clients concerning zoning, annexation, special exceptions, variances and critical areas issues. Mr. DeTar�s real estate practice involves representing purchasers, sellers, real estate agents and builders in connection with contract disputes concerning the enforceability of residential and commercial real estate and construction contracts and brokers agreements. Mr. DeTar represented a developer in establishing the legal standards in Maryland for administrative review of decisions relating to development in the critical areas in Bucktail, LLC v. The County Council of TalbotCounty, 352 Md. 530, 723 A.2d 440 (1999). Mr. DeTar�s employment practice involves counseling employers regarding personnel policies and decisions, and representing employers in disputes with employees including, but not limited to, terminations and the enforceability of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements. Mr. DeTar regularly appears in most of the trial courts on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the Court of Special Appeals and the Court of Appeals, and has many published appellate decisions in Maryland. Mr. DeTar is also an active member of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and represents clients in Pennsylvania state and federal courts.
