Richard A. Waldron was appointed SciClone's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2007. In July 2004, Mr. Waldron and the then Chief Operating Officer were appointed jointly to the Office of the President and served in that office until the appointment of Dr. Ira Lawrence as SciClone's President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2005. Mr. Waldron joined SciClone in 2001 as the Company's Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Waldron has over 20 years of experience in the finance and management of biotechnology companies. Prior to joining us in March 2001, he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from June 1999 to August 2000 for Genelabs Technologies, Inc. and from July 1995 through March 1999, he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GeneMedicine, Inc. From 1990 to 1995, he was a managing director and the head of finance for technology-based companies at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, Inc., an investment banking firm. From 1985 to 1990, he was a senior vice president responsible for health care investment banking at Cowen & Company. Mr. Waldron received his M.B.A. degree with honors from Harvard University and his A.B. degree magna cum laude in Economics from Princeton University. |
