Description of Practice:
Richard C. Mallory is a founding partner of the firm and is the co-managing partner of the San Francisco office, specializing in commercial and industrial leasing. Rick represents landlords in a broad range of leasing issues including straight leases, lease-equity, lease takeover transactions and telecommunications transactions. His practice also includes broker listing and registration agreements and contract negotiations with architects, engineers, construction companies, designers and parking and property management firms. On the tenant side, Mr. Mallory provides expertise in lease negotiations and transactions including renewals, takeovers, pass-throughs, subleasing and assignment issues, sale/lease-backs, leases with purchase options, telecommunication agreements and construction contracts for tenant improvements.
A dynamic presenter, Mr. Mallory is in demand as a speaker at real estate industry seminars and conventions throughout the country, and has also published many articles on the subject of commercial leasing. In addition to his membership in the Building Owners and Managers Association and the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, Mr. Mallory is counsel for the American Industrial Real Estate Association, has served as a member of the Stanford Law School Board of Visitors and currently serves on the advisory boards of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, the Practising Law Institute and the Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute of Georgetown University Law Center.
Rick is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), Lambda Alpha International, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of San Francisco. Since 1984, according to a survey of his peers, he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America as a leading California real estate attorney, and in a 2004 legal newspaper survey, was named as one of the top six real estate attorneys in the Bay Area of California.
