Dr. Richard McCullough is Chief Science Officer and founder of Plextronics and Dean of the Mellon College of Science at Carnegie Mellon University. He came to Carnegie Mellon in 1990 as an Assistant Professor, and quickly rose through the tenure ranks, being promoted to Associate Professor in 1995 and Professor in 1998. In 1998 he assumed the role of Department Head of Chemistry. Dr. McCullough is internationally known as the world's expert in the synthesis of regioregular polythiophenes. His research focuses on understanding the structure-property relationships displayed by these materials. He holds a Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. from The University of Texas at Dallas. |
