Richard D. McLellan is Senior Counsel to the firm after his retirement in 2007 as the Office Managing Member of Dykema's Lansing Office and the Director of the firm's Government Policy Department. His practice involves extensive work in Indian law, education law, ethics and political compliance, energy and insurance regulation.
Mr. McLellan remains active in public service and political affairs. He is Chairman of the Michigan Law Revision Commission and immediate past Chairman of the Michigan Film Advisory Commission. In addition, Mr. McLellan is Chair of The Council for Africa Infrastructure Development, Inc. and is Second Chair of the Advocates Guild of the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society.
Mr. McLellan also serves as an adjunct associate professor in the Michigan State University College of Communications Arts & Sciences and as Special Counsel to the Chairman of the Michigan House Appropriations Committee.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. McLellan served as Administrative Assistant to Michigan Governor William G. Milliken. He also served as Transition Director for then Governor-elect John Engler and in a number of appointed positions. |
