Experience:
Dick Favretto focuses his practice on antitrust law. His experience in government and private practice covers the entire range of antitrust and trade regulation issues, including grand jury proceedings and criminal litigation; civil trial litigation; appellate litigation, including a US Supreme Court argument; mergers and acquisitions; Justice Department and FTC investigations; international antitrust matters; and counseling of businesses and trade associations on antitrust compliance. He has been described as "outstanding on his feet" and "absolutely terrific to work with" (Chambers USA 2007).
Dick joined Mayer Brown in 1981. He is a veteran of both 15 years of service in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, culminating in service as Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Acting Assistant Attorney General, and of more than 25 years of private practice focusing on antitrust law. He is a member of the ABA Antitrust Section and is a frequent panelist in its programs.
