Mr. White joined Wisconsin Energy in 1997 as vice president of Corporate Communications. From 1983 to 1997, Mr. White was with Carolina Power & Light Company in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he was director of Communications Planning, manager of News Services and manager of Media and Employee Communications before being named vice president of Communications and Community Relations in 1989.
Prior to Carolina Power & Light, Mr. White held public affairs positions with GTE Corporation (now Verizon) and served as a squadron commander and public affairs officer in the U. S. Air Force.
Mr. White graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1971 with a bachelor of arts degree in radio, television and motion pictures.
In the community, he currently serves on the Board of Visitors of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a member of the boards of directors of Milwaukee Urban League, the Public Policy Forum, the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the Milwaukee County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
He is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society and the Public Relations Society of America.
