Richard J. Wright, Jr., CPA is the Director of the firm�s research & development tax credits service area. He assists manufacturing, technology and software companies in New York and nationally to successfully reduce their tax liabilities by uncovering R&D credits. As Director in the firm�s Tax Department, Mr. Wright is also responsible for the overall planning, organization, supervision, and completion of client engagements. He has a broad background in tax planning working with closely held businesses, in particular with sub chapter S-corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. He also has significant experience assisting companies with tax advisory services pertaining to M&A activity. Mr. Wright has other specialty areas including working with high net worth individuals, business owners and professional athletes with their personal tax planning and compliance needs. He also specializes in the design and structure of qualified defined contribution retirement plans. Mr. Wright has had articles published nationally on R&D tax credits in Manufacturing & Engineering Magazine, the publication of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and Leading Edge Magazine, the Magazine of the Leading Edge Alliance, which is a peer group organization of over 50 progressive public accounting firms in the U.S. Mr. Wright is Chair of the Food Bank of Western New York and is also the Finance Chairperson for the National Buffalo Wing Festival, Inc. He graduated from St. Martin�s College in Washington with a bachelor of science in accounting. He joined Freed Maxick & Battaglia, CPA�s PC in 2004, after having worked for another large local accounting firm. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). |
