Richard L. Arneson joined Atlas in 1987 as Vice President, Information Technology. In 2005, Arneson was named Chief Technology Officer for Atlas World Group.
Arneson assesses technology issues across Atlas' eight subsidiary companies, including a review of security, disaster recovery plans and accounting. Over the years, Arneson has been involved in the development of ASIST, the Atlas System for Internet Shipment Tracking and the implementation of Atlas' document imaging system that has eliminated paper shipment files. Arneson also assisted in the implementation of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) systems that improve data exchange with Atlas customers.
Arneson, a native of Minneapolis, Minn., graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining Atlas, Arneson held various positions with IBM, Minnesota Mutual Life, Twin City Federal Savings & Loan and Northwest Computer Services (now known as Wells Fargo). |
