Mr. Bibart received his undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard College in 1964 and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1966. He was admitted to practice before the Ohio Bar (placing first on the February 1967 Ohio Bar Examination) and the United States Tax Court in 1967, and before the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio in 1969. From 1967 through 1983, he engaged in private practice, devoting most of his time to federal tax and business matters. In 1984, he joined his largest client, Red Roof Inns, Inc., and ultimately became its President and CEO. In 1991, Mr. Bibart returned to private practice. He joined Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP in January, 2002.
Mr. Bibart's practice focuses on representing business clients in the formulation, negotiation and implementation of business strategies and transactions, with emphasis on federal tax planning aspects. He also represents clients in federal income tax audits at the Revenue Agent and Appellate Conference levels. He is a member of the American, Ohio and Columbus Bar Associations (and several of their Tax & Business Sections.) He currently serves on the board of A Call to College. He is also a past president of the Board of Trustees of Northside Child & Family Development Center.
