Richard L. Chinn is a partner in the firm's Chemical Practice Group. He offers a broad range of experience in patent prosecution, application preparation and patentability and infringement evaluation in chemical technologies and litigation. His expertise includes pharmaceutical agents, oligosaccharides, enzymology, agricultural chemicals, biotechnology, polymer chemistry, dye stuffs, and semiconductor processing.
Dr. Chinn received his Law degree from George Mason University School of Law. He received his Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in Organic Chemistry from the University of Rochester, and his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences. As a research fellow at Emory University, he gained first-hand experience investigating methodologies for heterocycle synthesis. He has published numerous scientific articles in the areas of organic synthesis, mechanistic organic chemistry and heterocyclic methods.
Dr. Chinn is admitted to the Virginia Bar and is registered to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia and the U.S. Patent Office. |
