Richard Kronenthal has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of ORTHOCON since co-founding it in 2005. Before ORTHOCON, Richard served as Chairman or President of five start-up biotechnology companies and as a Board member or Vice President for five others. Previously, he worked at Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company, for 32 years, where he headed the Research and Development Division. While at Ethicon, Richard led many groundbreaking research efforts, including those resulting in the development of Coated VICRYL and PDS sutures. He was awarded the prestigious Johnson Medal for Research and Development for his work. He has authored 15 publications and holds 20 US patents in the chemical and healthcare fields. Richard holds a BS in Chemistry from Brooklyn College and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Polytechnic Institute of New York. |
