Mr. Fairbanks has been a Counselor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington, D.C.-based research organization, since April 2000, where he served as Managing Director for Domestic and International Issues from 1994 until April 1999, and President and Chief Executive Officer from May 1999 to April 2000. Mr. Fairbanks was the Managing Partner of the Washington, D.C. office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP (a law partnership) from 1985 to 1992, when he became Senior Counsel, a position he held until 1994. Mr. Fairbanks served as a director of Hercules Inc. between 1995 and 2000 and between 1998 and 2005 he served as a director of SPACEHAB, Inc. Mr. Fairbanks is also a director of GATX Corporation. He formerly served as an Ambassador-at-Large for the United States and was International Chairman of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council. Mr. Fairbanks is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and before the United States Supreme Court. |
