President and Chief Executive Officer of the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC), a self-regulatory organization for the bulk electricity system in North America. Mr. Sergel, age 56, joined NERC in 2005. He is the former Chief Executive Officer of National Grid U.S.A., an electric and gas utility and the successor to New England Electric System (NEES). He is a trustee of the Worcester Art Museum. Mr. Sergel received a B.S. degree from Florida State University, an M.S. from North Carolina University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Miami. He served in the United States Air Force.
