Richard Howe joined Sullivan & Cromwell in 1967 and has been a partner in the Firm's General Practice Group since 1974. He has extensive experience in general corporate and securities matters, regulation of broker-dealers and investment advisers, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and Section 16 issues. Mr. Howe was chair of the Business Law Section of the New York State Bar Association from 1992 to 1993, chair of its Committee on Securities Regulation from 1982 to 1986, a member of the TriBar Opinion Committee since 1986, a member of the Board of Directors of the New York County Lawyers' Association from 1983 to 1989, chair of that Association's Committee on Corporation Law from 1983 to 1989, a member of the Committee on Corporation Law of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York from 1977 to 1979 and is presently a member of the Committees on Corporate Practice, Federal Regulation of Securities, Legal Opinions and Professional Conduct of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. He is currently a director of Bar Assurance and Reinsurance Limited, President and a director of Peoples' Symphony Concerts and a director and member of the Executive Committee of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, Inc. |
