Richard R. Sayers graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. degree in 1976, and received his J.D. degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1981.Mr. Sayers maintains a diverse legal practice concentrating on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance issues, business formations, commercial real estate transactions, securities offerings, and financial and estate planning. Mr. Sayers has extensive business and legal experience in coordinating and closing commercial transactions involving various federal and state subsidy programs, including low income and historic tax credits. Mr. Sayers is also involved in the nursing and healthcare industries and represents numerous commercial real estate developers. Mr. Sayers maintains an active role in the community through his representation on several non-profit boards, including the Small Business Development Center, Inc., of which he is Chairman of the Board. Mr. Sayers has also prepared and participated in several continuing legal education seminars ranging from the formation of entities to Section 1031 exchanges. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Tennessee Bar Association, and Roanoke Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Virginia.Mr. Sayers currently resides in Roanoke, Virginia with his wife and two children. |
