Rick Gibson is a shareholder in Leonard, Street and Deinard�s Corporate Department, where he represents businesses and business owners in the negotiation and completion of business transactions spanning acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, financing transactions and general corporate matters.
Rick is also a member of the Leonard, Street and Deinard�s Tax capabilities group. His practice emphasizes advising on corporate and commercial transactions and financings, tax, real estate and estate planning. Rick regularly counsels clients and has experience structuring, negotiating, documenting, and closing commercial and corporate finance transactions including senior debt, subordinated debt and private equity transactions, secured, mezzanine, and securitized financing transactions. He also has extensive experience in tax matters including entity selection, transaction tax planning, partnership tax, like-kind exchanges, real estate tax matters and complex tax transactions.
A Certified Public Accountant (inactive), Rick began his career with the international accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Most recently he was shareholder and served as managing partner for a midsized Minneapolis law firm.
Rick is a frequent conference and Continuing Legal Education speaker. He has also written and spoken on tax, real estate and business law matters for the franchise, restaurant and hospitality industry. He has been recognized as a "SuperLawyer�" by his peers, as noted in Minnesota Law & Politics, and as one of franchising top 100 "Legal Eagles" by Franchise Times magazine.
