Richard W. Young is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. For more than 25 years, his practice has concentrated in intellectual property counseling and litigation. He has served as chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group and as a member of the firm's Operating Committee.
Rick represents numerous national consumer product companies in the enforcement of their intellectual property rights, including through litigation. He has litigated patent, trademark and copyright infringement actions in federal trial and appellate courts around the country. He also regularly counsels clients on intellectual property issues including patent infringement and validity questions, licensing and branding strategies. He has experience representing companies in a broad range of industries, including advertising, publishing and manufacturing. Rick assists clients in the acquisition, protection and exploitation of their intellectual property rights around the world. He has been named one of The Best Lawyers in America in intellectual property law.
Prior to joining the firm, Rick litigated intellectual property disputes at Kirkland & Ellis. He is active in the International Trademark Association and has spoken widely on trademark issues. He co-edited "U.S. Federal Circuits: Trademark Cases and The Judiciary," a comprehensive review of all federal appellate trademark decisions since 1980. |
