Rick Lang is executive vice president in charge of several departments: Research, Statistics, Public Affairs, Community Affairs, and the Payment Cards Center.
After spending four years with the St. Louis Reserve Bank as a staff economist, he moved to Philadelphia in 1980 to coordinate the monetary policy briefings for the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He was promoted to senior vice president and director of research in 1984 and held that position for 16 years, eventually taking on expanded responsibilities for other central bank functions. He was promoted to his current position in October 2000.
He received a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and went on to obtain a master�s degree and a Ph.D. in economics at Ohio State University. |
